In Astonishing Australia part-1, we have tried to enjoy you the places around Sydney. In this part-2, we will move towards mind blowing other destination, and it is Melbourne. and it’s around site is just like a blue heaven. If you are very much fond of world class art, wants to enjoy by watching wild penguins and koalas, wants fun with rain-forests and best of the best sea beaches, this is a perfect place for you.
The Great Ocean Road, LORNE :
It is only 90 minutes distance of Australia’s best-known surf towns, TORQUAY, which is home to both the Rip Curl and Quick Silver surf wear labels. After that, more 50 minutes down road, you can find the great charming seaside town, LORNE, which is known for its lively arts scene and its one kilometre long sea beach. Twelve Apostles, is the best sight of The Great Ocean Road. We can have the lot of enjoyment on the beach. It is an extra ordinary sea beach of Melbourne.
National Rhododendron Gardens :
If we are looking for some adventure activities, Dandenong’s tall forest and National Rhododendron Gardens are the best places for it. It is only one hour journey from Melbourne City. Rhododendron Gardens are spread out in 104 Acres (42 hectares) area with camellias cherries, azaleas and Rhododendrons. Kallista is very much nearby from this place, where we can found Grants Picnic Ground. There is a beautiful 6.6 K.M. circular walk in Sherbrooke Forest through fern-filled gullies, where cockatoos and kookaburras make their homes. This place is like a Paradise and can give the fill of the Kingdom.
Mornington Peninsula :
Mornington Peninsula is a wonderful year-round destination with superb wineries and restaurants, based at sea side villages. It is only one hour run from Melbourne to McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery at Langwarrin, which showcase more than 100 works by well-known Australian Artists. From here we can have the best starts of wonderful wineries, just like Montalto and Ten Minutes by Tractor. There are also a historic seaside like Portsea and Sorrento, which both feature well-preserved heritage buildings. For art lovers and wine lovers, it is the superb place.
Phillip Island (Forest Caves Beach) :
About two hour from Melbourne City, before midday to watch the daily feeding of pelicans and stingrays, fishing village of San Remo is based. From here, a bridge will take us to Phillip Island. Take a walk around rugged Cape Woolamai with its striking pink granite cliffs and golden sweep of sand. Penguin Parade is based there nearby, where hundreds of little Penguin come ashore at summerland Beach after a day swimming at sea.
Yarra Valley (Domaine Chandon Winery) :
Coombe takes about one hour time from Melbourne, is a historic house with heritage gardens that belonged to Australia’s first international opera star, Dame Nellie Melba. It is marvellous sight seen place. From there Domaine Chandon is very much nearby and it is Australia’s premier producer of sparkling wine. We can have the mind blowing place there like, Healesville Sanctuary to encounter koalas, kangaroos, wombats, lyrebirds, Tasmanian devils and dingoes. Coming back to Melbourne, TarraWarra Museum of Art is there, which has fabulous collection of acclaimed Australian Artists such as Brett Whiteley. We can have also more enjoying part with more wine tastes in between at, Innocent Bystander and TarraWarra places.
These are the most enjoyable places, nearby to Melbourne City. We will visit more places and wonderful cities in coming journey.
